LUNCH BOXES

Whether it’s just the two of you, or you are entertaining ten or more family members we have different options to suit all requirements.

THE CLASSIC TURKEY MEAL (8-10 diners)

Fresh turkey breast fillet, oven ready and wrapped in streaky bacon to aid flavour and basting.  A generous pork loin with crackling,  pigs in blankets, chestnut stuffing, cranberry sauce and turkey gravy.

CHRISTMAS MEAL FOR 2

We introduced this option last year, and it was a roaring success, and we had a lot of feedback about the great quality of the Sirloin of beef.

Not everyone wants to eat turkey so this option gives a choice for couples wishing to spend a quiet Christmas day with lunch taken care of.  Choose between –

British beef Sirloin joint with beef gravy enriched with port wine and shallot.

OR

Oven ready turkey breast fillet filled with chestnut stuffing, wrapped in streaky bacon, and accompanied by pigs in blankets, cranberry sauce and turkey gravy.

BOTH come with fresh carrots, parsnips, tender stem broccoli and a choice of potatoes.

AND a bottle of red or white Halfpenny Green wine, our local vineyard in Bobbington.

TURKEY WELLINGTON (four or six diners)

A modern twist on a classic beef dish. An oven ready fresh turkey fillet, rolled and coated in sausage meat and chestnut stuffing encased in puff pastry, accompanied by cranberry sauce and turkey gravy.

We will pop easy to read cooking instructions in with every meal, and are happy to answer any questions you may have.

BUTCHERY FROM CRAIG

Apart from these meals we can supply meat on its own.  Our in-house butcher, Craig Whitehouse, is happy to prepare whole turkeys, butterfly breasts, crowns, and fillets, duck, pheasant.  Joints of beef, lamb, pork and venison, and accompaniments such as pigs in blankets, sausage meat, home cured plain and smoked bacon etc.

TRADITIONAL BRITISH CHEESE PLATTER (4-6 diners)

Our cheesemonger is based just down the road in Worcestershire.  They stock some of the finest British cheeses made on the farms using traditional methods.  Our Christmas platter showcases excellent cheddar, blue cheese and West Country Bries that are putting the French to shame!

This year we have put a twelve month cave aged and matured Wookey Hole Cheddar together with two Blues and two Bries to choose from. Shropshire Blue has a stronger, sharper more intense flavour than Stilton. Colston Bassett Dairy’s Shropshire Blue has won many Silver and Gold medals at the World Cheese Awards.  You may prefer a delicious Stilton (also produced by Colston Bassett Dairy) which is gentler, sweeter and more balanced than most.

Our Bries are both from a farm near Cricket St. Thomas in the West Country.  The goat’s Brie is crumbly and mild with a nutty taste when young, and a fuller flavour and softer texture when matured.  The cow’s milk Brie rivals any Brie de Meaux from France.  Creamy, soft and mild with a fresh flavour it has a golden colour inside.

BOXING DAY AND BUFFET FOOD

If you’re planning to entertain on Boxing Day, or perhaps throw a party over the festive season let us take some of the hard work off your hands.  We have a great range of buffet food to impress your guests.

 

Our home cooked gammons, hams and meats have been popular Christmas fayre ever since we started here ten years ago. We have a great range of finger food such as coronation chicken mini kebabs, pepper & tomato king prawn skewers, baby burger buns, chipolata sausages with sweet chili dip, mini Yorkshire puddings with beef & horseradish, and loads of sandwiches with scrummy fillings on a variety of breads to name but a few.  We also have an extensive range of vegetarian and vegan options.  Or perhaps you are interested in a traditional afternoon tea.
